Welcome to a summary of my life experiences and especially my travels.

life experiences

Having left school at 16 with no qualifications I luckily still spent the next 40 years of my life doing mostly computer systems work. After trying out being a draughtsman and some factory work I was so very lucky to get into computers in 1966. After a few years operating computers, programming and systems work, I became a programming manager, systems analyst and eventually a contract analyst/programmer selling my services throughout the 1970 years through the 1980’s.

I retired in 2003 and went to live abroad where the sun shines.
In Crete a Greek island, is where I ended up. But due to ill health I came back to UK.

After returning to the UK in 2008, I have been living in Yorkshire.

Since 2009 I have been learning and experimenting with Internet Marketing (IM) and all aspects of Internet & Affiliate Marketing to enable me to make a living from the internet.

Driving To Crete (UK to Italy)

UK, France down to Italy

UK Dover  My Trip Driving to Crete had started I set off from Dover by taking the catamaran from Dover to Calais at 15:00 (3 pm), the catamaran was a first time for me, very different and speedy only 1.5 hours to Calais. I had got to Dover too early for departure. So went up on cliffs overlooking Dover and took in the different views from various places. Even entered the national trust place overlooking the docks, just same view but bigger than when I was a kid of 13 years old.

Driving to Crete (Italy to Crete)

Cruising Italy to Greece

From Ancona in Italy,  While driving to Crete I had to take the ferry from Ancona. On The Ferry and finding a bar I had a couple of beers and then walked around the ship, it was big and reasonable prices, there was a cheap restaurant and 3 bars also a deck bar as well, with food for sale hot dogs etc. Some people were swimming in the very basic pool, mostly kids. I noticed most people seemed to be Italian with a few Greeks but no English people that I came across.

Arrival In Crete

       Finding Long Term Accommodation

I had abandoned the UK for sunnier climate and a more relaxed lifestyle. So here I was newly arrived in Crete and staying at a flat I had found and paid for on the internet, yes a very good holiday rentals site. I have not been able to find this site more recently so if you have any ideas what its called and where it is please let me know. All I can remember is it was something like holiday-rentals.

Holiday Home

It was during the mid 1980’s when I heard that my brother was buying a bar in Tenerife and that it was in an apartment block which still had a number of properties left for sale.

My father had moved to Tenerife on his 65th birthday I remember that he had retired literally to the day, and driven his Ford towing a trailer across Europe and down to Tenerife.

Finding the Right Depression Treatment

Depression or prolonged sadness is actually quite common in the United States, around 9.5 percent of the American population actually suffers from this illness, however, not all of them get to be treated, thus, depression and its ill-effects continue to be a burden to some individuals. This illness may seem quite simple to treat but in reality, it takes more than a little cheering up to actually cure depression. Constant visits to a cognitive behavior therapist is a must as well as taking all the prescribed medicines that the doctor will ask the patient to take – none of these exactly come cheap, but the amount of suffering that a person is going through because of depression is enough reason already for others to start taking notice and face depression head on through the various depression treatments that are available today.
